Rev. 3:10,11; Rev. 21:5-8
It is great to be bold, but in life, you will be confronted by circumstances seeking to block you, circumstances seeking to frustrate you, and at some point in your life, it will be demanded that you persevere.
What is perseverance? Perseverance according to the dictionary definition is to continue in a state, enterprise, or undertaking despite counter influences, opposition, or discouragement.
When you are seeking to achieve something in life there will be counter influences, there will be opposition and there will be discouragement. Perseverance is the ability to continue despite these hindrances.
Perseverance refers to that quality of character which does not allow us to surrender to circumstances or succumb under trials. It is the capacity to continue to bear up under different circumstances.
Perseverance is not an option. It is a command! God commands us, demands from us to persevere. It is very important that when we are confronted with obstacles we don’t give up, We preserve because God wants His children to be people who trust Him through all seasons of life.
Life has several seasons and life will throw against you different things, but God commands us that no matter the seasons of life we must preserve.
Perseverance enables us to advance through trials
Perseverance qualifies us to inherit what God has promised.
To persevere:
1. You must have passion.
2. You must see possibilities not with the physical eyes but with your spiritual eyes
3. You must perspire - you cannot persevere without putting in effort
4. You must be persistent
