Proverbs 4:23
The Bible teaches us that what we say comes from our hearts. So, if your heart is not right, then your confession will not be right. The kind of things you allow in your heart will determine the kinds of things that will come out. Luke 6:45 says, "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good, and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks." What we fill our hearts with will affect our entire lives. The state of your heart is critical to the totality of life you would live. If you don't keep your heart right you cannot keep your words right and you cannot keep your actions right.
How do we preserve our hearts so our hearts does not get contaminated, so our hearts does not get bitter, our hearts does not receive negative things, so that negative things does not come out of our mouths? Proverbs 4:23 Amp. Bible says, "keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard for out of it flow the springs of life.
The things that impact our lives do not flow from outside of us but they flow from the inside of us out. The condition of your heart will determine the condition of the things that will flow out of your heart.
We must be diligent, we must be deliberate and we must keep our heart because the issues of life; the things that determine life and death are flowing from our hearts.
